It is with great sadness that I have to report that our President
Richard Ayling passed away yesterday. Those clubs from the South London
Football Alliance will have known Richard for many years as he was our
secretary for over 20 years and also in later years took on the role as
Treasurer. Before becoming an integral part of the League Richard was secretary
of Furness Football Club for many years, Furness were also a member of the
SLFA. As Secretary of the SLFA Richard had an incredible knowledge of the rules
and ensured the League was run in a very professional manner, he would spend
many hours dealing with League correspondence and always made himself available
to clubs who needed advice.
Our thoughts are with his wife, Brenda and her family at this sad time.
